The Youth Ministry Futures Residential is something different.
It’s more than a conference or a lecture series.
It’s a new gathering of people passionate about Youth Ministry in Australia and beyond.
Over 4 days nestled amongst some of the best food + coffee Melbourne has to offer, the program blurs the line between content & community as we immerse ourselves in a week packed with opportunity
During the day we gather around content delivered by some of the best missiologists and practitioners in the country, designed to spark deep discussion, innovative ideas, and effective ministry practice.
In the evening we’ll take time to be encouraged for the task ahead of us - thinking, laughing, resting, eating, praying and dreaming together about the future of Youth Ministry.
By the end of the week we’ll leave with hearts, minds and networks expanded, all in the hope of reaching Australian young people with the gospel
So if you take youth ministry seriously, and you want your ministry to grow in its depth and impact, we’d love have you join us.
So join us as we turn classrooms into playgrounds, theory into practice, and sparks into flames.

Obviously, we think it is. But we've worked hard to make sure that's the case too. For one thing, we're hoping that the Residential will help your youth ministry take massive strides forward in evangelism and outreach.
We've invited experts from missiology, anthropology, and cultural studies to give us their best stuff. But they're not the youth ministry experts - that's why we need you. We're not coming with a one-size-fits-all approach, and don't think we have all the answers. But, by gathering people like you in the same room, and giving ourselves time and space to engage with these ideas, we really think that we can break some new ground together. Maybe this is just the thing to get you unstuck when it comes to evangelism in your context. Or, maybe you've got something to offer someone else. Either way, we want you in the room. -
This is more than a conference - we're building a community and launching a revolution. There are lots of conferences to go to for new (and old) ideas for ministry. The Residential is a unique gathering for everyone who shares a commitment to long-term local church youth ministry leadership.

The Residential is all about strengthening you for your ministry, positioning your ministry toward mission, and resourcing your mission with effective tools. All of that is worth investing in. But, we'd love for you to get in touch if this is a concern. We're really keen to make sure that finances aren't a barrier - so if you're finding that's an issue, we'd love to hear from you and see what we can do.

We think so, but we know that can be a lot for some people.
The accommodation is a great combination of communal living and quiet space for you to reflect and recharge, while the timetable is designed to serve introverts and extroverts alike. Plus, in a room full of youth ministry people from across the country, we're pretty confident you'll find some people to get along with.
But we believe there is a unique value in getting together in this way. Feel free to reach out if you have any specific questions or concerns. -
Academic Credit
You can attend the Residential for academic credit with Ridley College (affiliated College of the Australian University of Theology) with FEE-Help available for eligible students. This is a great opportunity for anyone wanting to include some youth ministry study into their theological degree, do some thinking about youth ministry, or even take youth ministry as a cross-disciplinary unit as part of their course of study elsewhere.
